Previous Work

Here is a selection of my best previous work from when I studied Level 3 and my first two years in Uni.

The Art of Depression, this is the first film I made at college and is a short documentary about depression, sadly this version is edited as the original version which I submitted to be marked contained footage that while given permission to use for educational purposes was not granted for uploading to YouTube.

The second short film I made in college was a short drama piece called "Lost Friend", it is a silent film, only featuring music, which gave it a more emotional feeling than it would if it wasn't silent. The film follows two friends revisiting old memories as they walk to visit the grave of their friend who passed away a year prior.

The third piece of work I produced during my time at college, and the final one for my first year, was a short Stop-Motion Animation to the brief of being either a TV Ident or a short TV ad in the style of Change For Life, with this brief and Change for Life as an inspiration we made a TV AD to bring awareness to the amount of sugar in the everyday drinks we consume.

The first Piece of work I produced during my second year of college when studying for my Level 3 BTEC was a short TV AD, The product we decided to sell was a "New" Energy drink we called vibe which was meant to be healthier and provide you with more energy than other drinks on the market. The aim was to try and be funny and over the top like a lot of energy drink ads seem to be.

My final major project for my Level 3 was a fan music video for the song Suburban Kings by Tom Delonge. The video consists of entirely archive footage from the various music videos and other video pieces he has appeared in over his music career and was aimed to be an homage to him celebrating nearly 25 years in the industry. While the brief called for me to use my own footage, I was given a pass to not to as during the time I was meant to be producing it I had a lot of personal problems.

The first video I was tasked with making at University was a video about the Grammar of The Edit. The video had to include various different types of edit to covey a short story with 'Making a cup of tea' as an example. I chose to make my video on video games, my skills at the time were a little rusty, I hadn't touched a video editing software in over a year and the quality of the video reflects that nether the less I am still proud of this video despite its flaws.

One of the assignments from my first year of University was to create a promotional video for a client, due to circumstances out of my control I had to put together a last-minute video for my University in around two days. Despite the setbacks, I was rather happy with the final product.

During my second year of University, I was tasked with producing an instructional video that could take the form of either an Unboxing or a How-To Video. I chose to make an unboxing video for the Nintendo Switch, In the video, I go through what is in the box when you buy a Switch along with a brief demonstration of how the Switch works.
